Stephen Zinser
CEO and Co-CIO

Served as Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chief Investment Officer of ECM Asset Management until December 31st 2014. ECM was co-founded in February 1999 by Stephen as an independent asset management company focused on the European fixed income credit markets following the advent of the Euro. ECM reached €21 billion assets under management in 2007 when a majority stake was acquired by Wachovia. The firm is now fully owned by Wells Fargo. Prior to co-founding ECM, Stephen held posts at Merrill Lynch International, London from 1993 to 1999 following a 13 year career at The Chase Manhattan Bank which he joined straight from Cornell in 1979. Stephen is a Member of the Board and Chairman of the Investment Committee of the GAVI Alliance.

Sohail Malik
Co-CIO and Lead Portfolio Manager

Established and launched the ECM Special Situations fund in November 2010 and managed the fund until June 30th 2014. Previously at Agilo, a London based distressed debt fund, he has 15 years of experience in credit and portfolio management, including asa senior member of Credit Suisse’s Special Situations Group (2005-09). Prior to Credit Suisse, he spent five years working for IBMGlobal Financing, where he managed the group’s European syndicated loan and restructuring book. Sohail is an Economics graduate of Plymouth Business School.

Douglas Shaw
COO

Douglas has worked in finance since 1987 and in investment management from 1994, specialising in the field of liquid alternatives. He was Head of Derivatives at Gartmore for 8 years and served in several senior roles at BlackRock, also for 8 years. In between, he was the founding Chief Operating Officer of the Children’s Investment Fund. He represented the hedge fund industry to the UK Parliament’s Treasury Select Committee in February 2009 and served on the European board of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA).

Amit Staub
Portfolio Manager

Before Roxbury, Amit joined ECM in 2009 and worked with Sohail as a Portfolio Manager on the ECM Special Situations fund until June 30th 2014. He joined as a high yield analyst focusing on special situations and restructurings. He has over 10 years of credit management experience, including work as a Credit Analyst for Permira Debt Managers in London and as an Associate Director at INVESCO. Amit started his career in investment banking at JPMorgan. He is a CFA charterholder and earned a BSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from LSE.

Stephen Hutt
Head of Quantitative Strategy

Stephen joins Roxbury from Morgan Stanley where he worked within the London-based Interest Rate Derivative group since September 2013. For the prior two years he was a founder of the Jefferies exchange-traded Quantitative Strategy Group. The group was responsible for developing and managing Macro Relative Value quantitative strategies. Stephen also worked at RBC Capital Markets between 2005 and 2010 as a Business Analyst and Head of Business Process Engineering. Between 1999 and 2004 he worked as a Senior Business Analyst at Wall Street Systems which he joined from ABN Amro.

Georges Debbas
Portfolio Analyst

Prior to joining Roxbury, Georges assisted in setting up Metronome Capital, a long/short equity fund based in London. He worked there for 3 years where he participated actively in the stock picking process and managed all the trading activities. Previously, he worked at Citigroup as an equity derivatives trader for close to three years and as a stockbroker at Tradition Financial Services for one and a half years. Georges graduated from CASS Business School with a Masters in Finance after completing his BSc in Economicsand Mathematics at the American University of Beirut. He is a Certified Technical Analyst.

Øystein Mathisen
Marketing Executive –Business Development

Prior to joining Roxbury, Øystein was in charge of Business Development and Investor Relations at Aros Capital Partners from April 2010, a London based multi-product hedge fund. Øystein has 10 years experience in business development, specialising in liquid alternatives. From 2005 until 2007, he managed the Nordic Desk for Private Clients at Saxo Bank in Denmark until joining the Bank’s Senior Management team in London as Head of Sales and Sales Trading for UK and Middle East private and corporate investors. In 2008, he established the Nordic Desk for FXCM in London. Øystein served as an officer in the Norwegian Army for six years having had active tours of duty both in the Balkans and Afghanistan.

Kathrine Chong
Head of Operations

Kathrine started her career at Pendragon Capital and has over 10 years of experience in Operations and Fund Accounting gathered working for Trafalgar Asset Managers, Pensato Capital, ECM and more recently Metronome Capital where she was Head of Operations. Kathrine has a BA degree in Archaeology and Ancient History from Durham University.

Rachel Dixon
Office Manager

Rachel joins Roxbury from ECM where she supported Stephen Zinser in the business since 2009. In her current role she will fulfil a number of key business support roles for the team. Rachel has 14 years of experience working in financial organisations including Royal London Asset Management and ABN Amro Bank.
